26th November, 2018, Kolkata, India: Indian Plastics Federation (IPF) is organising the prestigious Triennial exhibition Indplas’18 in Kolkata from 30th November 2018 to 3rd December 2018 at Kolkata to support Robust Growth trend in Plastics Sector in Eastern India. Indplas’18 attracted more global major to participate in the one of its kind mega business to Business (B2B) exhibition on Plastics in eastern region and broadening the reach and scope of the sector. Indian Plastics Federation (IPF), one the leading representative bodies of the plastics industry in India, today informed about Indplas’18 – the largest sector-specific business-to-business (B2B) International industrial exhibition in the Eastern region – that would be held from 30th November to 03rd December,2018, at ECO Park Exhibition ground, Rajarhat, Kolkata. Indplas’18 is the 8th International Exhibition on plastics that would cover the whole gamut of the industry and is being planned on a much bigger scale this time with wider participation from Indian and overseas companies .
The exhibition is expecting a footfall of more than 70,000 people from all over Indian and abroad. The inaugural function will be held on 1st Dec ,where Dr. Amit Mitra has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest. An interactive seminar on Waste to Wealth is also being organised on 2nd December, where various Ministers, top bureaucrats and many more senior people from various Govt. departments are expected to join. INDPLAS’ 18 is supported by Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India, West Bengal Industrial Development Corp. Ltd, ASSOCHAM, Indian Chamber of Commerce, FICCI, PlastIndia Foundation and other leading Plastics Associations, “Indplas’18 will prove to be a Game Changer in the development and investment in Plastics sector in Eastern Region and will be an ideal platform for buyers and sellers ” said Mr Ashok Jajodia, Chairman, Exhibition Organising Committee – INDPLAS’18.
On the national front, The Indian economy today stands at US$2.5 trillion with the Eastern states accounting for 16% contribution to the overall GDP. As per NITI AYOG, the economy will swell to US$7.5 trillion in next 10 years with the eastern states accounting for 30% of the economy. The plastic processing industry stands at more than Rs.2 lakh crore annually, still growing at more than 15% per annum. With 40,000 units in operation and offering direct employment to more than 4 million people, the investment prospects in plastic industry, specifically in east looks very buoyant. As the per capita consumption in East will grow at a rate which will be more than double the national rate, West Bengal and other eastern states will become the most preferred destination in our country.
Today the total plastic consumption in India is around 15 Million Tons and is expected to go up to 25 Million Tons in next 7 years. The new port facilities coming up in east in Sagarmala Scheme of the government as well as modernization of existing ports shall provide a great infrastructure to the industry. With BCPC expected to come to its full capacity in next 6 months and new IOCL refinery and Petrochemicals project starting very soon in Paradip. With sufficient polymer production, adequate infrastructure, and availability of skilled and unskilled manpower, Eastern states, especially West Bengal is poised to become the sun-shine state in India
