DOMO Engineered Materials At Plastindia 2026. Advancing Lightweight, Flame- And High-Heat-Resistant, Sustainable, And Water-Safe Materials
- Application-driven innovation across four pillars: Air, Fire, Earth, Water
DOMO Engineered Materials, a leading global supplier of polyamide-based engineered materials, will showcase its high-performance material solutions at Plastindia 2026 (Hall 4FF, Booth A3).
With recently increased production capacity and strengthened local R&D capabilities, DOMO is addressing the evolving needs of the Indian market through a strong focus on specialization, sustainability, and application-driven innovation. This approach reinforces DOMO’s position as a solutions provider in the region and expands its portfolio of engineered materials based on polyamides and other resins.
“India is recognized as one of our fastest-growing markets globally,” says Ron Bult, General Manager Asia at DOMO. “We are shifting our strategy toward stronger local support to enhance our presence in Asia and deliver cutting-edge solutions that enable smarter mobility, safer electronics, and a more sustainable future.”
Powering local innovation with advanced materials
AIR – Lightweight design and advanced mobility
To promote more efficient mobility and consumer goods, as well as applications for railways, power tools, furniture, and sports and leisure, DOMO will showcase its latest metal replacement innovations.
A key highlight is the hybrid molding project with Canyon and ENGEL, which was a finalist at the JEC Innovation Awards. This project involves a one-piece bicycle handlebar that is produced using gas-assisted injection molding. This process delivers outstanding mechanical strength and significant weight reduction.
FIRE – Flame and heat resistance
To meet increasing demands in e-mobility and electronics, DOMO will present advanced solutions offering enhanced flame and heat resistance.
The company is expanding its halogen-free flame-retardant portfolio with new TECHNYL STAR and TECHNYL ONE grades, delivering improved flow, surface finish, and thermal stability while maintaining flame retardancy after glycol aging. These materials are designed for demanding applications including battery components, charging infrastructure, and power electronics housings.
Key highlights include:
- TECHNYL ONE J 60X1 V30 – A UL 94 V0, 30% glass-fiber-reinforced halogen-free flame-retardant solution developed to support thermal runaway prevention in e-mobility applications. It combines high flame retardancy, electrical insulation under high voltage, heat dissipation, thermal resistance up to 1300°C, resistance to cooling fluids, and excellent processability.
- TECHNYL STAR AF 61SX V30 BK – Designed for cooling circuit components in electric vehicles, offering outstanding performance after glycol aging while maintaining flammability compliance and mechanical integrity.
- TECHNYL STAR S 61X1 V30 BK – Engineered for assembly parts in battery systems and power electronics housings.
EARTH – Recycled and bio-based solutions
At Plastindia 2026, visitors will experience DOMO’s industry-leading sustainable portfolio, supported by four complementary technologies:
- Mechanical recycling
- MOVE 4EARTH patented recycling technology
- Chemical recycling (Depolymerization)
- Mass-balance certified alternatives
DOMO is uniquely positioned as the only player offering all four sustainable pathways, enabling customers to select the most suitable solution even for most demanding applications.
WATER – Sustainable water management
DOMO will also introduce new sustainable solutions for water management applications. Designed for low water uptake, high dimensional stability, and chlorine resistance at low temperatures, these materials are suitable for domestic and industrial water management components, including applications in contact with drinking water. The TECHNYL SAFE range offers drinking water and food contact compliance across PA66 and PA6.10 base polymers, combining chlorine resistance, dimensional stability, and high renewable content.
